I must admit, the odd way the Giants won in the Super Bowl is quite interesting—in terms of probability, random dramatic effect, what else…
The clips of New York fans screaming and celebrating have a Nuremburg Parade Ground tone to them that unsettles and saddens. When the cameras capture a young adult male yelling, ‘Boston sucks, Boston sucks,” you just wish you were a different species.
We are beasts, true. Pass the meat.

Heh-heh - this morning, I was wondering - though I don't follow football, as a New Yorker, do I say, "'The Giants' won," or "'We' won?"
I detest football so I watched '60 Minutes' which was about a town in Iowa where all these families are in the military and how the Iraq war has affected them. They were having parades and weeping and saying what good Christians they all were and how proud they were of their sons/daughters/husbands, etc. And the show had many tight camera shots on the relatives of those who inevitably died and got flags handed to them. I realized that I may as well have watched the Superbowl. Same tribe. Of which I am not a member and don't even begin to speak or understand the language. And if I say the shameful truth of how I feel - they all seem really stupid to me. I'm sorry for their pain but I feel like they brought it on themselves. Drinking the Kool-Aid in one form or another.
