I think we have a new kind of Democrat, actually, in which hearts AND minds are prerequisite. Obama won not only because of his social conscious, but because he is savvy in the business sense as well. How will Republicans trump that? You have to grab people by the heart and the imagination, firstly. If you can't, game over.

Hm. I need to think about that...

The allure of radicalism is dwindling in this country. People have too much on the line to risk. They like their stuff. They don't want radical change because they don't want to risk losing their stuff. When you've got nothing, you've got nothing to lose.

As a result we are left with moderation - on the left and on the right.

But we can make radical changes through moderation. Just don't tell anyone.

Radicals buck the system. They think it's faulty so they do what they
think isn't faulty and that usually means the opposite of what is the
norm.

The norm is extremism right now: fast and HUGE fame, FAST and huge
fortune, GREAT networks, FABULOUS apartments, EXTREMELY swank clothing,
GENIUS ideas.

Do the opposite and you have Moderate.

To be moderate is to be radical.
