New Muslim Target

We've been researching neighborhoods in New York. Went down to northern Battery Park City which calls itself Tribeca. We walked by the new World Trade Center iron going up. This is the new single tower they are building to replace the two towers that pancaked into a cloud after those Isalmic lunatics destroyed them with their planes they hijacked.

This construction looks solid and old fashioned to me. Good luck.

I understand your sentiments... but I kind of wish you had said "New Terrorist Target" instead of bashing Islam.

Yes, true, it was Islamic extremists who attacked us on 9-11; and, yes, they are our enemy-du-jour.

But I like to think that their insanity came from their extremism, more than their religion. Granted, there are people -- even former Muslims -- who point to parts of the Qur'an to argue that Islam promotes violence. But, the same is true of the violence-ridden Bible. It's all in how we choose to read it...

And a devotee of Middle Eastern dance who has spent time in the Muslim world, I have been impressed by the kindness, compassion and wisdom of Muslims -- which I can't help but think comes from their faith.

And, of course, let's not forget that American Christianity has produced its own share of McVeigh-esque loonies....

Carol, I totally understand. But I hold The Islamic faith in low regard. But I don't care much for Christianity or Judaism either. I think they all had their place at one time...they were exceptional civilizing forces, all--but now, it is time to give them all up or fuse them or something. I do not mean to offend Muslim people any more than I ever intend to offend Christians. Additionally, the title of the blog entry packs a stronger punch the way it is.
And...that you can make fun of ANY religion (South Park) EXCEPT for the Islamic faith is so annoying.

Point taken. Although, apparently you can't make fun of Scientology either.......
